Katy Perry Reaches Out to Taylor Swift
It seems that Katy Perry is ready to let bygones be bygones and to finally end her feud with rival popstar, Taylor Swift.
In case you don’t know exactly what’s been happening between Katy and Taylor over the last few years, we’ll give you a quick rundown.
The two divas reportedly had a falling out in 2013 when Taylor accused Katy of ‘stealing’ her backup dancers from her world tour to dance on Katy’s own world tour which was happening at the same time.
The two then apparently froze each other out and the feud began.
Taylor went on to allude to Rolling Stone magazine that her song, ‘Bad Blood’, was written about Perry. Katy retaliated by tweeting that one ‘shouldn’t trust the Regina George in sheep’s clothing’ a day after Taylor’s tell-all interview with Rolling Stone was released.
Fast-forward to May 2017 when Katy Perry appeared on James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment and confirmed the feud between the two pop stars. Katy said in the segment that she wouldn’t mind ending the feud and even asked Taylor to ‘give her a call’.
Now it seems Katy has reached out once again to Taylor.
Speaking to Arianna Huffington on The Thrive Global Podcast over the weekend, Katy said that she is definitely ready to forgive Taylor and let it all go.
“I am ready to let it go… Absolutely. One hundred percent. I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her. I think it’s actually like, I think it’s time. There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I’m saying? [sic]” she said.
When asked her opinion on Swift, Katy had nothing but positive things to say about the singer.
“I love her, and I want the best for her…And I think she’s a fantastic songwriter, and I think that, you know, if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, ‘Yeah, well we can do this,’” she said.
Taylor has yet to respond to Katy’s latest comments, but we certainly hope that the two pop stars can shake it off.
