Katy Perry Blasts Donald Trump over Wildfires Response
Katy Perry has slammed US President Donald Trump over his response to the wildfires that have spread across California.
According to reports, the raging Camp Fire – which broke out on Thursday, 8 November – has resulted in the death of at least 31 people, and more than 6 700 homes and businesses being burned down; residents have also been forced to evacuate their homes.
In a tweet on Saturday, 10 November, Trump blamed the wildfires on “poor” forest management by state authorities.
He added: “Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!”
Perry responded to Trump’s contentious tweet, writing: “This is an absolutely heartless response. There aren’t even politics involved. Just good American families losing their homes as you tweet, evacuating into shelters.”
The “Swish Swish” hitmaker also tweeted out her gratitude to the firefighters who are battling Camp Fire, and her support to those affected by the deadly blaze.
