Kasinauyo Suspended Over Alleged Match Fixing
Edzai Kasinauyo, who is a prominent board member of the Zimbabwean Football Association, has been suspended from his post due to match fixing allegations being brought against him.
The ZIFA association has suspended Kasinauyo after it was alleged that he had made attempts to fix the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland in which Zimbabwe would take part in later this month.
According to various reports, Kasinauyo was believed to have been in talks to fix the match between the Zimbabwean Warriors and Swaziland with Asian betting syndicates.
Jonathan Mashingaidze, CEO of ZIFA, later confirmed Kasinauyo’s suspension and said that ZIFA president, Philip Chiyangwa, would gove a full statement at a later stage.
The Zimbabwean national football team, the Warriors, are set to travel to Swaziland later the month, where they will take on Swaziland on March 25th. They will then host Swaziland at home a week later.
The match is part of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying rounds.
Currently, the Warriors are sharing the top spot in Group L with Swaziland.
