Karim Benzema Leaves Real Madrid For Saudi Club

June 01, 2023

Karim Benzema has apparently made his future plans known and it looks like he will be accepting a lucrative offer from Saudi Professional League (SPL) giants, Al Ittihad.

Benzema has been part of Real Madrid since 2009, making 438 La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants while scoring 237 goals in total. He was expected to extend his deal with Madrid, but it appears he will be leaving for King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Reports claim that the 35-year-old French striker has accepted a two-year contract worth an incredible €200 million to join the top-flight SPL club.

The sudden departure of their top striker will leave Los Blancos looking for new attacking firepower, with Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur; Liverpool forward, Roberto Firmino; and Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, being put forward as strong contenders.

Benzema became Real’s golden boy after Cristiano Ronaldo transferred to Juventus in 2018. Now the word on everyone’s lips is who can replace such departing talent?
