Kanye West Preaches at Joel Osteen Church Service

Kanye West paid a special visit to Pastor Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston to spread the good word on Sunday, 17 November.

The evening started simple enough: the choir performed and Osteen spoke of his trials and tribulations as a minister; then the 42-year-old “Gold Digger” hitmaker performed his “Sunday Service Experience” – a Christian concert featuring a gospel choir – at the Lakewood Church.

West shared his recent spiritual awakening with the crowd of 16 000 people, discussing his conversion to Christianity, how fame and money no longer hold any sway over him, and how he is “in service to God”.

In a 20-minute interview with Osteen, West said: “I know that God has been calling me for a long time and the devil has been distracting me for a long time.”

West’s latest album, “Jesus is King”, was released last month and the Christian rap album has received mixed feelings from critics.
