Kanye West: From College Dropout to Billionaire
It’s official, Kanye West stans: your boy is a billionaire.
Financial magazine publication, “Forbes”, recently reported that the 42-year-old rapper is worth $1.26 billion.
The “Gold Digger” songwriter is widely regarded as one of the most best-selling artists of the last 20 years, and is an accomplished businessman.
West is the owner of Yeezy footwear, a brand which Forbes has estimated to be worth $1.4 billion, although the liquidity of the brand puts it closer to their aforementioned net worth.
The net worth includes $81 million investments in buildings, stocks worth $35 million, and $17 million in cash reserves.
Despite all this, West has disputed the claims and says he is actually worth $3.3 billion.
He was so upset at the miscalculation that he texted the journalist who compiled the list, saying “no one at “Forbes” knows how to count.”
