Kanye West for US President!
Kanye West is running for president of the United States of America – no, you’re not imagining things.
The 43-year-old rapper made his political ambitions known via a Twitter post on Sunday, 5 July.
In a tweet to his 29.4 million followers, West said: “We must now realize [sic] the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!”
The “Gold Digger” hitmaker earned the endorsement of Tesla boss, Elon Musk, who responded to the tweet with: “You have my full support!”
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, retweeted the post with an emoji of the American flag.
This is not the first time that Yeezy has wanted to move into the White House – he previously told a crowd at a New York business festival last year that he would run for the oval office in 2024. Before that, he voiced the same plans at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
The presidential elections take place on 3 November.
