Kanye West Bought His First Phone To Get Kim K

We don’t know which is stranger – the fact that Kanye West didn’t own a cellphone until 2011 or the fact that he only got one to impress Kim Kardashian; and piss off her ex Kris Humphries in the process.

Well, while both facts are inherently strange, they are true – believe it or not!

Kanye was recently a guest on sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian’s talk show, ‘Kocktails With Khloe’ and revealed that it was sister Kim who prompted the rapper to get a cellphone.

Kanye says he only got a cellphone after he heard that Kim was getting married to basketball player, Kris Humphries.

He then started sending Kim pictures of basketball players in their more ‘golden years’ where they weren’t looking as good as they used to.

He went on saying that he did that to tell Kim (in not so many words) that this was her future.

“…I got a phone because somebody decided they wanted to marry Kris Humphries…I wasn’t up to anything, and I looked on the internet, and there was Kim Kardashian with some extremely tall person, and I was like, I need to call her or something,” he told Khloe.

He continued saying that he sent the pictures to show her what her ‘future’ would be like:

“…I started sending her pictures of certain basketball players that used to be cool, that now they wear their pants all the way up to here,” he said.

John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, were also in the episode and John even confirmed that Kim’s number was the only one that Kanye stored in his phone.

Well, we guess it worked because we all know how Kim’s (72-day) marriage to Humphries turned out, and now the reality star is happily married to Kanye.
