Kairat “Very Eager” for Champions League Clash with Real Madrid

FC Kairat are looking forward to playing against Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League match tonight, Tuesday 30 September.

That’s according to coach Rafael Urazbakhtin, who spoke at a pre-match press conference on Monday, 29 September.

“It’s a historic match. A pride for us,” he told reporters in attendance. “For a club like Madrid to play [in Almaty, Kazakhstan] … when we saw Madrid in the draw, it was a joy! We’re very eager and very happy to be part of an event like this.”

Coming off a 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid last Saturday, 27 September, Los Blancos will want to make up for their loss at Kairat’s expense, a fact Urazbakhtin is all too aware of.

“Losses happen, it’s football,” he said. “We all know Madrid is a very stable team, so we don’t give too much importance to the game against Atletico … We focus on analysing the matches they’ve won.”

Here’s hoping the Kazakh outfit will put up a strong fight against the Spanish giants when they clash at the Central Stadium in Almaty.
