Juventus Reject Chelsea’s Bid for Alex Sandro
Italian club, Juventus, has rejected Chelsea’s generous offer for the services of Brazilian international, Alex Sandro.
According to reports, Chelsea offered Juventus close to €60 million for the left back.
This weekend, Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Juventus, confirmed to the media that the club officially rejected Chelsea’s offer.
“Our desire is to not sell any of our most important players…We said no to a very good offer from Chelsea for Alex Sandro,” he told reporters.
However, while Juventus may have rejected Chelsea’s offer, it seems that Sandro himself may be keen to make the move to the EPL.
Italian newspapers have reported that Juventus has already offered Sandro a new contact to keep him from pursuing new offers. It is not yet known what Juventus’ new contract for Sandro would entail.
Sandro has had a very impressive career with Juventus over the past two years, after joining The Old Lady from Porto in 2015 for a €26 million transfer fee on a five-year contract.
He has won two League cups with Juventus and was an integral part of the Juventus team that made it to the final of this year’s Champions League.
