Jordan Peele’s New TV Show

September 22, 2017

Seven months after signing a deal with Sonar Entertainment, Jordan Peele has lined up his first project as executive producer.

The new TV series, called “The Hunt”, is inspired by true events and will be set in 1970s’ America. The show will follow a group of Nazi hunters as they track and kill former members of the Third Reich who have escaped justice by hiding in American society.

Sources say that Peele was inspired by the recent rise of neo-Nazism in America. Racial tension has been under the spotlight since recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia.

In August, a group of white nationalists marched in the Virginia city, sparking a number of counter-protests. One person was killed and 19 more were injured after a white supremacist rammed his car into a group of counter-protesters.

Jordan Peele starred for five seasons as one half of the comedic duo “Key and Peele” on Comedy Central.

Earlier this year, the 38-year-old proved that he is much more than just a comedian, with the release of his film “Get Out”. Written and directed by Peele, the racial-commentary horror received rave reviews and was a huge hit at the box office.

Peele has continued to work within the realm of racial commentary, recently signing on to produce Spike Lee’s film about infiltrating the Ku Klux Klan.

“The Hunt” will be written by David Weil, who currently has two other projects in development – a science fiction film and a fantasy TV series.

No network is attached to the project yet, but insiders say that several potential bidders are already lining up.
