Januzaj Ruled Out For 6 Weeks Due to Injury
Belgian winger, Adnan Januzaj, who is on loan to Sunderland from Manchester United, has been ruled out of play for the next six weeks following an injury to his ankle.
Januzaj injured his ankle during Sunderland’s match against Crystal Palace on Saturday – which they subsequently lost 2 – 1.
Sunderland revealed that Januzaj had undergone a scan on his ankle which showed significant damage to his ligament.
The news of yet another injury for Sunderland is definitely not welcome, as other Sunderland players Vito Mannone, Sebastian Larsson and Fabio Borini are also out because of injury.
The injuries have caused a lot of trouble for Sunderland’s Premier League campaign.
Another Sunderland player, Jermain Defoe, said that the team needs to pull together and go back to the drawing board and focus on their problems.
“…It’s important we take something from the game but it’s also important for the lads to forget about last Saturday…[sic] We have to go back to the training pitch, work hard and try to put in the same kind of performance, and hopefully if we get a little bit of luck we will get the points that we need…We’re improving but when you’re 2-0 up and concede within 30 seconds it isn’t good enough and I think all the players know that,” he told the club’s official website.
