‘Jack Daniels Music Scouts’ returns

September 02, 2014

Jack Daniel’s Music Scouts which was renewed for a second season due to the success of the first one kicked off on August 14, 2014 with a call going out in search of talented musicians around the country.

The goal of the Music Scouts competition is to find talented musicians around South Africa.

Unsigned musicians ranging from vocalists to DJs may enter the competition by sending a demo of their music.

Contestants will be allowed to demonstrate their musical skills by performing in gigs in order to obtain a fan base and to impress the music scouts who will act as judges.

The music scouts in this season will include radio personality T-Bo Touch who returns from last season. Newcomers include Hip-Hop artist Khuli Chana and DJ Ganyani.

Now it’s really odd that Jack Daniel’s is sponsoring music as it’s a whisky brand. However, Jack Daniel’s and music share a history together as old Jack himself started one of the earliest music sponsorships in the 1860’s.

Jack Daniel’s whiskey also became the "unofficial" whiskey of legendary musicians Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
