Ja Rule Not Likely to Be at the Super Bowl
Sorry Ja Rule fans but the rapper is not likely to make an appearance at the NFL Super Bowl this weekend.
In an interview with the New York Post, the 43-year-old rapper – real name Jeffrey Bruce Atkins – poured cold water on the hopes of fans expecting to see him perform two songs he had recorded with Jennifer Lopez, namely “I’m Real” and “Ain’t It Funny”.
Atkins said: “Everybody’s asking me. Everyone’s thinking it is gonna be a surprise, but it’ll be a surprise to me as well.”
Meanwhile, the “On The Floor” songstress has promised to put on the “best show ever” for the half-time interval, in which she will be sharing the stage with Colombian singer, Shakira.
Lopez compared performing at the sporting event to winning an Oscar.
She added: “[The Super Bowl is] a different experience and I think it’s just like a fantasy for all musical artists to be able to play the Super Bowl and have like that 12 minutes of an amazing show. I don’t know. There’s just something exhilarating about it.”
