Is Sarri Bound for Juventus?

May 28, 2019

Juventus are reportedly looking to sign Chelsea coach, Maurizio Sarri, to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

According to media outlets, Sarri – who has been struggling to win over Blues fans throughout his two-year tenure – has been identified by Juve as their top candidate for the management post, and has apparently agreed to a deal worth £6.2 million.

Allegri – who led the club to five successive Seria A league titles, but came up short in two consecutive UEFA Champions League finals – will be departing from Allianz Stadium in the summer.

The news of Sarri’s rumoured deal comes a week after it was claimed that Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, had agreed to a four-year-contract and would be revealed as Allegri’s successor in early June. Guardiola, however, denied the claim.

Now, it is believed that Sarri’s agent, Fali Ramadani, will meet with Chelsea director, Marina Granovskaia, to discuss the terms of the 60-year-old coach’s exit.

The meeting is said to be taking place on Thursday, 30 May, a day after Chelsea takes on Arsenal in the Europa League final.
