Inter Milan Reach Champions League Final After Epic Win
Inter Milan secured a place in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final following an unforgettable 7-6 aggregate victory over Barcelona last night, Tuesday 6 May.
The tie – which included 13 goals across both legs – saw Inter produce a thrilling comeback in the second leg, ending 4-3 after extra time at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.
Trailing 3-2 on the night, the hosts seemed on the brink of elimination until Francesco Acerbi’s last-minute equaliser forced added time. Davide Frattesi then struck the decisive blow in the 99th minute, sending the stadium into ear-splitting adulations.
Standout performances came from goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who made several vital saves, and Lautaro Martinez, who opened the scoring in the 21st minute.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi praised his side for overcoming two of Europe’s top teams, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, en route to the final. Despite injuries to key players, the Italian side’s resilience shone through.
Inzaghi’s team now awaits either Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal in the final, aiming to secure their fourth title, and their first since 2010. The club’s remarkable journey has captured the hearts of fans and proved their determination on the European stage.
