Injured Eden Hazard Out of Europa League Match
Chelsea midfielder, Eden Hazard, will miss the club’s Europa League clash with PAOK today due to a minor ankle injury.
The 27-year-old Belgian – who also suffered from a back injury in late October – was seen limping near the end of the club’s 90-minute match last Saturday against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spurs went on to beat the Blues 3-1, handing them their first loss of the season.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, head coach, Maurizio Sarri said: “[Hazard] has lost a lot of training. It’s normal at the moment; he isn’t at the top of his physical condition.”
However, Sarri claims that the midfielder will be fit enough to play against Fulham this Sunday, 2 December.
He explained: “[Hazard] will not be able to play tomorrow, but I think we’ll be able to recover him for the next Premier League match.”
Topping the Group L rankings with 12 points, Chelsea needs one more point from their remaining two matches to secure a place in the knockout stages.
