Iheanacho Not Taking Man City Winning Streak for Granted
Nigerian international, and Manchester City’s start of the moment, Kelechi Iheanacho, has said that he is not taking his current winning streak at the English Premier League club for granted, and that he still has ‘a lot to learn’.
In the seven appearances that Iheanacho has made for Man City, he has scored three goals for the club. The most prolific of these being the winner against Manchester United in the Manchester Derby two weeks ago.
He has also been receiving significant praise in the media from manager, Pep Guardiola.
However, it seems that the 19-year-old is determined to keep his feet firmly on the ground, recently telling the BBC that he is not letting all the praise go to his head.
“…I’m not letting all the praise get to my head because I still have a lot to learn in this game…It’s been a very progressive period for me at the club, but playing alongside stars like Sergio [Aguero], Yaya [Toure] and other great players provides a big chance to keep working hard,” he said.
He continued, saying that he is learning everyday, not only from his fellow team mates, but also manager Guardiola:
“…I’m definitely learning, quietly listening and watching others closely every day – I know in doing that I will achieve bigger things in my career…Our manager has confidence in me and has been encouraging me. All I want to do right now is to keep learning under him and work hard for the club,” he concluded.
