Iheanacho Hailed As Hero In EPL Manchester Derby
Nigerian international, Kelechi Iheanacho, has been hailed as the hero of the day after he scored the winning goal for his club, Manchester City, in the first Manchester derby between City and United in the 2016/2017 season.
Manchester City beat arch rivals Manchester United 2 goals to 1.
City scored the first goal in the 15th minute thanks to Kevin de Bruyne, but it was Iheanacho who scored the winning goal in 21st minute that secured the win for City.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored Manchester United’s only goal.
19-year old Iheanacho said that winning the match and scoring the winning goal is like a dream come true for him.
“…It means it all to me. It is a dream come true to play in the Manchester derby, and to get a winning goal. I am very, very happy for everyone…it is a great day for me and for the team, for everyone [sic]” he said.
