Iggy Azalea Addresses Beef with Halsey
Move over, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, there’s a new feud in Hollywood!
Iggy Azalea and singer, Halsey, may not have beef on a Taylor-Katy or Taylor-Kanye scale, but these two sure aren’t holding back on discussing it with the media.
It all started when Halsey called Iggy a ‘moron’ during a recent interview.
“There’s a lot of people I wouldn’t put on my record…Iggy Azalea: absolutely not. She had a complete disregard for black culture…moron…I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me [sic],” Halsey told The Guardian.
Ouch.
Iggy did not immediately respond to Halsey’s comments, but when asked about it on an Australian radio show yesterday, Iggy answered in a rather demure way.
“It’s a bit weird to bring someone up in an interview that you weren’t asked about…I’m a famous person, obviously, and I know a lot of the time people have opinions and they’re not always accurate…I really try very hard not to give my personal opinions about people I don’t know,” she said.
She continued, saying that she hopes Halsey will learn from her actions:
“She’s young and I hope that she learns to be a bit less judgmental…I’m sure she’s getting judged all the time as well by people who don’t really know her. So I think maybe it would be good for her to just try to be a little more empathetic to other people who are in the same situation.”
While Iggy seems to have taken the proverbial high road, we’re not sure what Halsey will think of that. Perhaps she’ll respond with a few choice words of her own.
