Ibrahima Konate Dithers on Transfer Offers
Ibrahima Konate’s future looks uncertain after turning down an offer to play in the Saudi Pro League, signalling his intentions to stay in European football.
With just 12 months left on his contract, the 26-year-old Liverpool defender has shown little enthusiasm for extending his stay at Anfield, leading to interest from Real Madrid. Although Liverpool are open to renewing his deal, talks have stalled, and Madrid are watching closely.
Reports suggest the Spanish giants would prefer to sign Konate as a free agent next year, but they may act sooner if the Reds are willing to negotiate. The English club has also apparently put up a €50-million price tag, but Madrid are prepared to offer only half that figure.
Paris Saint-Germain have also entered the picture with a strong bid. However, the Parisians are left wanting, as Konate is said to be leaning more towards a Spanish transfer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool – already light in defence after Jarell Quansah’s exit earlier this month – are eyeing replacements, including Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Despite no formal offers yet, Konate’s future looks murky. If no resolution is found, club management could be forced to sell him soon or risk losing another top talent ahead of the next season.
