Harry Kane: I’m One Of The Best
There certainly is no lack of self confidence for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, as the star striker recently told reporters he considers himself as ‘one of the best in the world’.
Speaking to the media after Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Stoke City on Sunday, in which Kane scored a hat-trick, he said that he considers himself to be ‘up there’ with the best players in the world.
“If you look at my stats, my goals, then I’m up there. If you guys want to print that [I’m one of the best in the world], I’m more than happy to have that,” he said.
While it may sound arrogant, Kane is not wrong in stating that he is among the best in the world. His hat-trick on Sunday took his total goals in all competitions for the season past the 20 goals mark, for the third time in a row.
He is also tied with Romelu Lukaku of Everton and Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal as the top scorers in the English Premier League with 17 goals each.
Last season, Kane took home the Premier League’s coveted Golden Boot award, with 25 goals in 38 games.
Kane was injured at the start of this season and was out for seven weeks, but clearly that has not stopped him from performing.
“Is this my best form ever? Yes I think so, I feel fresh, I feel sharp, I feel in good shape. Of course that injury I had earlier in the season might have done me a bit of good, getting a bit more rest…[sic] I’ve had a good couple of months now so it’s important I continue that until the end of the season,” he said.
