Habana Equals Try-Scoring Record
In yesterday’s Rugby World Cup game against the United States, Springbok winger Bryan Habana, equalled the world record for most try’s scored in the Rugby World Cup and with it, helped the Boks to glory.
The Springboks demolished USA with a final score of 64 – 0, and in no small feat that was thanks to the try success of Bryan Habana.
Habana has scored 15 tries in RUgby World Cup tournaments, three of which he scored in teh game against the USA. He is now equal to rugby legend, Jonah Lomu, as the top try scorer in Rugby World Cup history.
Habana came into the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which is being held in England, with 10 tries on his rap sheet. He quickly escalated that to 15 with thries against Samoa and Scotland, and then of course the hat trick in yesterday’s game against USA.
After news broke that Habana had tied the record with Lomu, Twitter, of course, erupted with congratulations for one of South Africa’s most celebrated rugby players.
Everyone from fellow rugby players, to other SOuth African and international sports stars to the man (Jonah Lomu) himself congratulated Habana on the social network.
The Boks’ win over USA yesterday meant that they finished top of the log in their pool, and will now either face Australia or Wales in the quarter-finals.
