Haaland Double Seals Crucial Win for City

December 15, 2025

Manchester City secured a vital 3-0 away win against Crystal Palace on Sunday, 14 December, with Erling Haaland netting twice and Phil Foden adding another, ensuring Pep Guardiola’s side remains just two points behind English Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The visitors were tested early at Selhurst Park Stadium in London, England, with Palace creating several clear-cut chances that struck the woodwork through Yeremy Pino and Adam Wharton.

Despite the pressure, City demonstrated a ruthless efficiency, breaking the deadlock when Haaland headed home from a Matheus Nunes cross four minutes before the interval.

Foden doubled the lead with a superb finish at the 69-minute mark, continuing his rich vein of form that has seen him score six goals in his last five appearances. Haaland then put the result beyond doubt late on with a successful penalty one minute before full time, taking his league tally to 17.

Guardiola lauded his side’s improved mentality, saying the team “fought unbelievably to achieve that”, a crucial quality as their title push gathers momentum.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner, however, lamented his team’s lack of clinical finishing, noting that City were “better in the boxes, and better and more efficient than we were”.
