Guardiola: EPL Title Won’t Happen for City This Year

January 16, 2017

It seems that Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has come to terms with the fact that it is very unlikely that his team will walk away as champions in this season’s English Premier League.

City is currently ten points behind leaders Chelsea, after they had an embarrassing loss to Everton on Sunday, losing the match 4-0.

This was yet another setback for City, who has been having problems winning matches as of late.

When asked if winning the Premier League was now out of the question for City after Sunday’s match, Guardiola said that he believes it is, but there might still be a chance to claim second place.

“…The first [place] is a 10-point gap and that is a lot of course [sic],” said Guardiola.

“…The second [place] is three points, so we have to see. I spoke with the players for the last three weeks to forget about the table. Focus on the next game and do our best [sic],” he said.

Despite the Spaniard not having the best run with Manchester City as of late, he did tell reporters that he is happy to be coaching in the English Premier League and that he is trying to do his best as manager for the club:

“I’m so happy in Manchester…Of course I prefer to win than lose but I’m so happy with the way I’m trying to do the best as possible to achieve what I think is the best way to play,” he said.
