Grandpa Sent To Prison For Dagga
A 64-year old man has been sent to jail after police raided his home and found massive doses of dagga in his home.
Silas John Karambakuwa, a 64-year old from Southerton, was sentenced to two years in prison after police found copious amounts of dagga in his home. He was sentenced to jail by magistrate Tendai Mahwe.
According to the prosecutor and police, Karambakuwa had not only sold dagga from his home, but was also growing the illegal herb. Police testified that they found an astonishing 43 kilograms of dagga in his home alone, and that he was growing more.
The final weight of the dagga came to just over 43 kilograms and was said to have an estimated street value of around $4,340.
Detectives further testified that besides the dagga they found, they also found six, large dagga plants in his yard.
