Gnarls Barkley to Conclude Trilogy with Final Album
After an 18-year hiatus, the celebrated duo of CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse has reunited for their third and final studio project under the Gnarls Barkley collective.
Titled “Atlanta”, the album is scheduled for release on 6 March via 10k Projects and Atlantic Records.
The announcement coincides with the arrival of their first new single since 2008, “Pictures”. The track serves as a nostalgic tribute to their shared hometown and Green’s youth. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Green explained: “‘Pictures’ is like going back to square one – it’s a full circle moment.”
He revealed the lyrics stem from his time as an eighth-grader, spending hours on the city’s MARTA trains after being sent away from school by his principal.
Since their global success with “Crazy” and their first two albums, both artists have remained prolific. Green pursued a solo career and television roles, while Danger Mouse produced acclaimed collaborative records. This upcoming 13-track LP acts as a definitive capstone to their partnership.
Fans can expect a blend of gospel-tinged vocals and intricate production as the pair finally completes the trilogy they began two decades ago.
