Fulham Complete Double Deal for Real Madrid Duo
Fulham have secured the double transfer of striker Gonzalo Garcia and attacking midfielder Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid.
Both players have agreed five-year contracts until June 2031, with the West London club holding an option to extend the deals by a further 12 months.
Garcia, a 22-year-old Spain international who entered Madrid’s academy at age 10, completes a transfer reported to be around £34 million. Having won La Liga and the Champions League in 2024, the forward was also joint-top scorer at last year’s Club World Cup.
“I’m very grateful, very happy to be here,” Garcia stated upon joining. “I have to thank the board and Arbeloa for the trust they’ve put in me, and I’m very, very excited to start.”
Palacios, who is 21 years old, moves for a reported £8.5 million fee after making senior appearances in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.
The acquisitions reunite both players with new Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who previously coached them in Real’s youth and reserve setups. Fulham open their English Premier League campaign against Chelsea on 24 August.
