
Fred the Godson, 35, Passes Away from COVID-19
Rapper Fred the Godson – real name Frederick Thomas – has died aged 35, after contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Earlier this month, the “Retaliation” hitmaker revealed on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with the virus.
In the caption of the photo he shared of himself in a hospital and wearing a ventilator, he wrote: “I’m in here with this Corvus 19 [sic] … please keep me in y’all prayers!!!! #GodIsGreat [sic].”
On Thursday, 23 April, a representative for Fred the Godson confirmed that the South Bronx rapper had succumbed to COVID-19 and passed away.
Tributes poured in for Fred the Godson from friends and fans alike, with rapper Fat Joe writing on Instagram: “I was soooooooo [sic] proud of you, little brother. Maybe now the world will pay attention to your greatness, you was [sic] always my favorite [sic].”
Fred the Godson is survived by his wife, LeeAnn Jemmott, and their two children, Sophia and Sadie.
