Fox to release ‘Rogue’ cut
Fox is planning to add all of Anna Paquin’s scenes as Rogue back into X-Men: Days of Future Past for a re-release of the film next year.
Paquin’s Rogue character has long been a fan-favourite, but while she filmed a number of scenes for this year’s hit film, all of them were cut from the final release.
But, according to the film’s writer and producer, Simon Kinberg, the scenes will be added back to provide fans with what they were missing first time around.
"It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie. We want to give [fans] the fullest picture of the film – behind the camera, and in front of it," Kinberg told Variety.
"Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character," he added.
Kinberg said that Paquin’s scenes were cut from the movie because it already had so many plots and sub-plots and that Rogue’s story arc just didn’t fit with the film.
If that’s the case it seems strange that he is now saying the scenes made up a substantial part of the movie…
