Four al-Shabaab Militants Killed by US Military
The United States’ military has confirmed that they have killed four al-Shabaab militants in Somalia.
According to the US military, these militant terrorists were killed through airstrikes, which the US army is labelling as ‘self-defense’ airstrikes.
The airstrikes seems to be in response to recent attacks on Somali troops and their accompanying US advisors in a village near the city of Kismayo – a city in the Lower Juba province of Somalia.
According to a statement released by the US Africa Command, the militants attacked the troops by firing assault rifles at the troops, to which the troops returned fire.
They confirmed that throughout the shoot out several of the al-Shabaab militants were killed.
However, as the fighting escalated, the US then conducted an airstrike on the area, killing four of the al-Shabaab extremists.
With the United States military assisting Somali troops, there have been several airstrikes over the past few years, and in the process they have killed many al-Shabaab leaders.
The al-Shabaab terrorist group and its militants have been terrorising certain parts of Somalia for years.
