Forest Whitaker Files for Divorce from Wife of 22 Years
Hollywood actor, Forest Whitaker, and his wife of 22 years, Keisha Nash-Whitaker, have called it quits on their marriage.
The “Platoon” actor met the actress-producer in 1994 on the set of “Blown Away”, and they were married two years later.
Together, the couple share two daughters – Sonnet, aged 22, and True, aged 20. They each also have a child from previous relationships.
However, Whitaker filed for divorce on Thursday, 27 December, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.
In the brief document, he also revealed his desire to not pay spousal support and for each party to separately cover their own legal fees.
The news of the split comes days after Whitaker tweeted on Christmas day: “Christmas is a celebration of solidarity – a time of the year when we are reminded that the bonds our families, friends, fellow citizens and beyonds are based on sharing joy.”
