Forensic Expert Says Explosion Downed EgyptAir Flight

May 25, 2016

A forensic expert, who is part of the investigating team looking into the EgyptAir crash, has said that the body parts they are examining suggests that there was an explosion in the aircraft.

He said that some of the body parts that were discovered from the wreckage showed signs of burn wounds. He also said that the parts were so small that it suggests a blast was involved.

“…[sic] There isn’t even a whole body part, like an arm or a head…The logical explanation is that an explosion brought it down,” he was quoted as saying.

However, Egypt’s head of their forensic agency said that these comments need to be dismissed as they are ‘baseless.’

Rumours that there was a bomb on board the doomed flight has been doing the rounds ever since the plane crashed into the Mediterranean last Thursday. However, Egypt as well as France’s investigating officials have warned the media to not report false stories.

As of yet, there has been no official reason as to why the plane crashed.

Both Egyptian and French investigating officials are still searching for the plane’s black box which contains in flight recordings.

Leaked flight data, however, did show that there was smoke detected in the cockpit and also in the lavatories of the plane before it went down.

However, until the the black boxes are recovered no official word as to why the plane went down can be be sent out.
