Fan Mocks Britney Spears’ Mental Breakdown
A supposed Britney Spears fan has been blasted on social media, and has been accused of mocking her 2007 mental breakdown, during a meet and greet.
The “Gimme More” singer has come a long way since her breakdown 11 years ago, which saw her shaving her head and smashing a car with an umbrella.
Apparently, a Swedish fan named Uónder – who goes by the handle @uonderrrock – uploaded a picture to Instagram of him meeting Spears in Sandviken, Sweden dressed as “2007 Britney”.
He also Photoshopped a green umbrella into the picture.
His original caption underneath the photo read: “Hi Britney, I’m the ghost of Christmas 2007.”
A Spears fan tweeted: “This is a mockery of serious mental health issues, and it’s stuff like this that stops people from taking it seriously and for those suffering to reach out for help.”
Uónder has since disabled comments on his post and edited the caption, slamming those who have threatened him and his family. He added that, despite the backlash, he intends on keeping the picture online.
