Everton Reject Barcelona’s £85m Bid for Brazilian Striker

January 30, 2020

Everton have reportedly turned down a huge £85m million offer from Barcelona for Brazilian forward, Richarlison de Andrade.

According to reports, Everton dismissed the bid straight away, despite the lucrative offer. The Toffees refused to sell Richarlison as he is one of their most valuable assets and their aim now is to bolster their team – having already made great improvements under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Richarlison has enjoyed an incredible form this season – having scored 8 goals in 22 appearances for the Toffees – making him one of their best players.

The Spanish giants are desperately looking for a forward player to replace Luis Suarez, who has been ruled out for four months following a knee surgery – but their efforts so far have been unsuccessful.

Richarlison is a long-term target of Barcelona’s and this is not the first time they have attempted to sign him. They made enquiries about his availability last summer but those advances were also overtaken by Everton.

The 22-year-old Brazilian forward has missed Everton’s last two games due to a minor knee injury, but he is now back in training and will be featured in Saturday’s clash against his former team, Watford.
