England Faces Rooney Blow

October 07, 2015

England might have to take on Estonia in the 2016 World Cup Qualifier without captain Wayne Rooney, as the star striker missed out on training for the game for the second time in a row today.

Rooney, who is undoubtedly one of England’s best weapons when it comes to soccer, has been missing training with his national squad after he sustained an ankle injury. His absence at the pitch has now caused concern over whether or not he will even play the match on Friday.

Rooney was injured in Manchester United’s game against Arsenal on Friday. The Red Devils were destroyed by Arsenal without scoring once and bringing the final score to 3 – 0 for the day.

Whether Rooney will play or not, he will still remain a part of the English squad and will no doubt attend the game against Estonia on Friday – even if he doesn’t make it on to the field.

England have already qualified for next year’s finals in France, having gone unbeaten in 8 games in their pool.
