Eminem Drops Surprise Album

August 31, 2018

Eminem has unexpectedly dropped a new album, Kamikazi, just eight months after his last full-length effort, Revival, hit the musical scene in December 2017.

The Detroit rapper, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, announced the album with the following tweet: “Tried not 2 overthink this 1 … enjoy”.

The 13-track album sees the 45-year-old dismissing new rappers such as Lil Pump, Lil Xan and Lil Yatchy and taking shots at US President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, rapper Machine Gun Kelly and broadcaster Joe Budden.

He also rails against the media over their scathing reviews of Revival and their portrayal of his behaviour as erratic in recent years.

‘Revival’ received divided reviews with many stating that it lacked focus and was bloated with guest musicians, watering down the rapper’s immense presence. Despite some poor reviews, the album still managed to reach No 1 in the US and UK.

Mathers recently completed a tour of the UK, and is expected to announce a new tour in support of Kamikaze.
