Ellen DeGeneres Lands Herself in Hospital After Two Glasses of Wine
Everyone’s favourite talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, had quite an eventful Monday evening, which ended in a trip to the emergency room!
During her opening monologue of her show on Tuesday, Ellen said that she had something to share with her audience: her dislocated ring-finger.
She started telling the story of exactly how she managed to dislocate her finger, and, in true Ellen form, turned it into one helluva funny story.
“So, you know how in gymnastics when you do a one-handed cartwheel and you have to spread the weight evenly between all your fingers? Well, I had two glasses of wine and fell into a door… So Portia and I were coming home from a dinner party and were almost at the front door – The dogs were so excited to see us and I caught the lip of the top step. I was a foot away from the door and I fell into the door and it did something to my finger, I knew something was wrong,” she said.
Elle then explained that her wife, Portia De Rossi, drove her to the emergency room where they took x-rays and confirmed that she had, in fact, dislocated her finger.
She said that the staff at the hospital were all very excited to see her there and even asked for her autograph – dislocated finger and all!
However, Ellen being Ellen did not let a dislocated finger deter her from hosting her ever popular show the next day.
