EgyptAir: Black Box Confirms Smoke On Board
Data from the black box of the crashed EgyptAir flight 804 has confirmed that there was smoke detected in the on board before the plane went down.
The data showed that the smoke alarms of the plane had gone off. Along with the smoke alarms, investigators also said that they found soot in the wreckage, which is an indication that there was a fire on board the plane.
Investigators have been searching for the black boxes of the plane for over three weeks now, after the plane went down in the Mediterranean on May 19th.
There were 66 people on board the doomed flight.
In a statement released by the investigating committee that had been analysing the data from the black box, the investigators said that it recorded the flight’s data from take off, until it stopped at an altitude of 11 250m.
“…Recorded data is showing a consistency with ACARS messages of lavatory smoke and avionics smoke,” a part of the statement read.
“…Parts of the front section of the aircraft showed signs of high temperature damage and soot,” they added.
