Edgardo Bauza: Messi Happy At Barcelona
Manager of the Argentine national football team, Edgardo Bauza, has told reporters that star Argentine striker, Lionel Messi, is happy at his Spanish club, Barcelona, and that he doesn’t believe Messi will leave the club anytime soon.
There has been speculation recently over whether or not Messi will stay with Barcelona, especially after the Spanish giants lost 4-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League clash.
Many critics have suggested that Messi will look for greener pastures after his contract expires with Barcelona in 2018.
However, Bauza believes that Messi will stay with Barca, because he is happy there.
“I can see just how happy he is at Barcelona with his family around him…Of course when Leo is happy that helps him give his best performance, morale is crucial for form,” he told reporters.
When asked whether or not he believe Messi will perform better with another club, Bauza said that he doesn’t really care where Messi is playing, as long as he is playing.
“At Barcelona, Manchester City or wherever, that’s his decision to take. I just want him to play and that’s all,” he said.
He continued, saying that Messi is a high energy player:
“He’s the type of player who always wants to be on the pitch, never wants a rest”.
Bauza also said that Argentina are determined to win the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup. The South American team has yet to win a World Cup, but Bauza says they are confident they can make that happen in 2018:
“[We] are going to try and win this next World Cup, which will make [Messi] one of the greatest of all time [sic]”.
