Easy and Efficient Homemade Face Masks

October 20, 2016

Giving your skin a treat with a weekly face mask is a must for glowing, healthy skin. However, face masks can cost a lot of money and may not even be that effective. That’s why it is a great idea to make your own face mask at home – and hey, the natural ingredients are way better for your skin anyway.

Here are our two faves:

Avocado & Oats

With Avocado being super rich in essential oils and Vitamin E and Oats being the perfect, non-irritant, natural scrub, these two pair up to make one mean natural scrub mask. Here’s how:

Combine one tablespoon of oats with one tablespoon of mashed up avo in a bowl. Mix until you have an even mixture.
Smear your face with the mixture and leave on for approximately 15 minutes. Then, rinse off with warm water and pat dry your face with a clean towel.

No need to moisturize afterwards because of the rich oils in the avocado!

Egg white, honey & lemon

Egg white is famed for its many beneficial properties, from vitamins to minerals – it’s seriously healthy, which makes it perfect for glowing skin.

Honey and lemon have also been used together for hundreds of years for their soothing properties and helping to make your skin sparkly! This face mask is perfect for damaged skin and it also helps to fight bacteria that causes acne.

You will need:

1 egg white, half a lemon, and a teaspoon of honey. In a bowl, squeeze the juice of the lemon into the egg whites. Then add the honey and whisk until you have a fluffy consistency.

Then, using a cotton wool ball, dab the mask all over your face. Leave it one for about 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
