Earthquake in Italy Kills Over 200 People

An earthquake that hit some regions in Italy yesterday has already claimed the lives of more than 200 people, officials have said. 

The villages that suffered the most are Umbria, Marche and Lazio. Geologists have said that the the earthquake had a magnitude of between 6.0 and 6.2 on the Richter scale. 

Hundreds of people have also been injured and many people are still missing. Friends and family are scouring through the rubble to recover people and belongings. 

Rescue workers are also working around the clock to save those still trapped under the huge piles of rubble. 

Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, said that they death toll is expected to rise and that it is currently sitting on 247 fatalities.
