Hollywood actor, Dwayne Johnson, recently shared some personal news, revealing that he and his family had contracted coronavirus (COVID-19) in recent weeks, but have since then recovered.

The 48-year-old former professional wrestler – who still goes by his ring name, “The Rock” – posted a video on Wednesday, 2 September, on Instagram, discussing how his family had tested positive for COVID-19.

In the video, he mentions how he and his spouse, Lauren, had “a rough go” battling the infection, whereas their two daughters – four-year-old Jasmine and two-year-old Tiana – had only mild symptoms and bounced back.

Johnson said: “But I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good. We are on the other end of it. We are no longer contagious, and we are, thank God, we are healthy.”

Ever the advocate for health consciousness, he listed several handy measures in the caption of the video, including wearing a mask and being “disciplined”.

He also advised his 196 million followers to get tested, practise social distancing, and to “care for your fellow human beings.”
