Dwayne Johnson Confirms Superhero Roster for “Black Adam”

August 25, 2020

DC Comics fans, hold onto your hats – Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that “Black Adam” will feature several members of the Justice Society of America.

The 48-year-old “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” actor will be playing the title character and main villain for the upcoming live-action adaptation. Included in the confirmed superhero line-up are Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Cyclone.

The aforementioned characters are all members of the Justice Society of America – think the alternative Earth version of the more popular Justice League which features Batman and Superman – which includes the well-known names of Flash and Green Lantern.

Johnson will also share the silver screen with “The Perfect Date” actor, Noah Centineo, who will be playing Atom Smasher, another member of the fictional superhero team – the rest of the cast are still unannounced.

An animated trailer for the film – narrated by Johnson – was revealed at the DC FanDome virtual event on Saturday, 22 August.

In the trailer, Johnson coolly narrates: “I have a knack for destroying bullies, but there are some who think I need help.”

He ominously continues: “They call themselves the Justice Society … well, I’m going to teach them that the only beliefs I fight for are mine. Welcome to truth, justice, and the Black Adam way.”
