Drogba Not Returning To Chelsea

January 26, 2016

Any and all speculation about Didier Drogue’s speculated return to english Premier League football club, Chelsea, can be put to bed after the soccer star himself made it obvious that he would not return to the London-based team.

In fact, Drogba will be staying with Montreal Impact – the club he was with last season who play on Major League Soccer.

With the MLS season starting in March, Drogba tweeted this week: “on way to Qatar to do some preparation work for pre-season” – thus ending all speculation that he would return to Chelsea.

While Drogba is contracted to stay with Montreal Impact until the end of the year, after he joined them in July of last year, there have been many rumours doing the rounds that he was in talks with his former club’s management.

It is believed that Chelsea’s billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich, was in talks with Drogba over possibly joining their coaching staff and hanging up his playing boots.

But now it looks like the 37-year old Ivory Coast striker is not yet ready to give on playing and start a coaching career.
