Dr Dre is the Highest Paid Musician

Dr Dre emerged as Forbes highest earning musician for 2014, thanks to massive $620-million pay check from selling Beats to Apple for $3 billion.

The co-founder for Beats was followed by superstar Beyonce, who earned $115-million courtesy of her self-titled surprise album, Mrs Carter World Tour and lucrative endorsements with Pepsi and H&M.

In third place is The Eagles, who earned $100 million from their ongoing History Of The Eagles tour followed by Bon Jovi with their $82 million from the final laps of their Because We Can Tour which has grossed about $250 million in total. Rock legend Bruce Springsteen rounds off the top five with $81 million in earnings. The star is still on tour with the E Street Band and they bring home a whopping $4 million per night.

Forbes’ top 30 was calculated from a combination of income from touring, music sales, publishing, merchandise, endorsements and various other ventures based on the June 2013-June 2014 fiscal year. Britney Spears, Avicii, Kanye West, Madonna, Macklemore, David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Tiesto and Birdman all missed the list but were named as close-calls.
