January 28, 2019

Kim Porter’s cause of death has finally been revealed, two months after she unexpectedly passed away.

The 47-year-old model and actress – who was also the ex-girlfriend of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs – was pronounced dead at her home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles in November last year.

The Los Angeles coroner’s office released the results of the investigation into Porter’s death on Friday, 25 January. They determined that she had died from lobar pneumonia, a condition that results in the inflammation of the entire lobe of the lungs.

According to the coroner’s report, Porter had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for days in the lead-up to her death. Bottles of water, sports drinks and a hydration solution known as Pedialyte were found in her bedroom.

On the morning of 15 November, she was found unresponsive in her bedroom, prompting her house-mates to call emergency services.

Porter is survived by her four children: Quincy, Christian, D’Lila Star and Jessie James.
