Diddy Demands Netflix Pull ‘Shameful Hit Piece’

December 02, 2025

Jailed hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has launched a legal attack against Netflix, sending a cease-and-desist letter to halt the release of the docu-series, “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”.

The four-part series – which was produced by Combs’s long-standing adversary Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – has been labelled a “shameful hit piece” by Combs’s spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer.
The primary point of contention is the use of alleged “stolen footage” filmed days before Combs’ September 2024 arrest, including private conversations with his lawyer.

Engelmayer argued that Netflix had illegally obtained material Combs had been compiling for his own life story, adding that to work with Jackson, “a longtime adversary with a personal vendetta,” felt like a profound betrayal.

The streaming company, however, firmly denied the claims. The documentary’s director, Alexandria Stapleton, insisted the production team had “obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights”.

The series features numerous allegations against Combs, including claims of sexual abuse, interviews with trial jurors, and renewed suggestions of his involvement in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder.

The 56-year-old former rapper – who is currently serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges – has threatened further legal action against Netflix.
