Diame Talks ‘Most Important’ Goal Of His Career
Senegalese international and Hull City midfielder, Mohamed Diame, has said that the goal he scored that secured the win for his team in the playoff final was undoubtedly the most important goal of his football career.
Hull City took on Sheffield on Saturday in the final playoffs to contend for a spot in the Premier League, which they secured after Diame scored the winning goal, helping his team win 1 – 0.
Diame said that it may not have been the best goal he has ever scored, but it sure was the most important:
“…I don’t know if it’s the best goal I’ve ever scored, but it’s definitely the most important,” Diame said on Hull City’s official website.
He continued saying that he is delighted to have made it into the Premier League and that his team must celebrate their victory now:
“…It’s been a long, tough season but we’ve done it. Now we must enjoy this achievement and celebrate it. I am delighted,” he said.
Hull’s manager, Steve Bruce, also had some stellar words to say about the 28-year old:
“…One of our big players, Mo Diame, has won us back our Premier League status. On the big stage and on the big occasion, he has come up trumps for us,” he said.
