Demi Lovato Continues to Throw Shade at Taylor Swift
When there is an ongoing feud between two pop divas, you can be sure that any hint of shade being thrown from any side will be picked up and blown up by the media.
Many people are aware of the ongoing feud between former Disney starlet, Demi Lovato and Queen of Squads, Taylor Swift.
It all started way back, when Demi accused Taylor of ‘stealing’ her then BFF, Selena Gomez.
Demi and Selena were joined at the hip for what seemed like forever – both basking in the fame their respective Disney channel shows brought them.
However, soon Selena found herself hanging with a new crowd and becoming BFFs with their leader, Taylor Swift.
Fast forward a few years – and numerous situations where Demi has callked out Taylor for being ‘fake’ – and we find ourselves in a very familiar situation; Demi has once again called out Tay-Tay in her most recent interview with Glamour magazine.
Asked whether or not she still sticks with her comments made earlier in the year about Taylor not being a feminist, she said yes.
“…Just speaking out. I’m not afraid to talk about the fact that women get paid less than men in the United States and how unfair that is. Talking about it at all is doing the work…[sic] And I think every woman does her part in some way. But I think in certain situations, certain people could be doing more if they’re going to claim that as part of their brand,” she told the magazine.
She continued, calling out Taylor’s infamous model-filled squad, saying that they are not a representation of ‘real’ women:
“…To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body…It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real…. It’s not realistic. And I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment. We all do things that aren’t, but I have to ask myself, ‘Am I content with calling myself a feminist?’ Yes, because I speak out,” she concluded.
Mmm… perhaps someone has sour grapes for not being included in the squad?
